About

Due to the disappearance of DOS-based AV solutions, AVDisk is not developed anymore. The information on these pages may be outdated and is provided for reference only.

AVDisk is a program which automates the task of getting your anti-virus software on to floppy disks which you can use to start, scan and disinfect your computer.
AVDisk currently supports the following anti-virus programs:

  • Frisk Software International's F-Prot
  • Kaspersky Labs AVPLite (support has been taken out of AVDisk as AVPLite suffers some detection restrictions and is not developed anymore. Use KAV/AVPDOS32 instead)
  • Kaspersky Labs KAV/AVPDOS32 Builds 134+
  • NAI/McAfee's ScanPM (DOS)
  • ESET NOD32
  • EZ Antivirus (formerly known as Inoculate IT PE) (The DOS program is part of the Win9x/NT/2000 download)
  • Grisoft AVG (The DOS program is part of the Win9x download)
  • Dr Web
  • Trend Micro PC-cillin (The DOS program is part of the Win9x download)
  • Sophos Anti-Virus (Sophos Sweep)

For each supported program AVDisk provides the following features

  • Automated creation of startup disks
  • Automated spanning of your AV software across multiple disks
  • Optional NTFS support using NTFS4DOS (v9.3+ only)
  • Automatic RAM drive mounting and software decompression
  • Adjustable keyboard layouts for several countries
  • Basic usage help file for each program
  • Multiple language support
